I believe that the key to mediation is that the parties are in control of the process and should receive the dispute resolution process that they could best use to resolve this dispute. When the situation warrants, I can be evaluative, or facilitative, or anywhere in between. Different mediation styles are appropriate for different parties and disputes. I believe that flexibility of the mediator is key in coming to an appropriate resolution.
